A Fact About Steve #1
My pot of coffee just finished brewing, and I plowed down a plate of pancakes. This day is starting off in a good way. “Wait a minute (everyone’s saying), it’s 5 in the evening?!” ANOTHER FACT ABOUT STEVE: I’m nocturnal, and I’m not completely happy about it. Because, while most of the rest of America is sleeping; I’m working, playing on the net, doing chores, paying bills, reading books, and everything else one can imagine (all the typical things done in the daytime).
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s the way my body was made. But it’s solitary, and that can be frustrating. So, if some blogger ever has a sleepless night, come on over to my site. I’ll most likely be online, at some point. Because if it’s anywhere between 4p & 8a (E.S.T.), I’m awake.

I used to be a vampire too, even worked a second and third shift job but now, no way! I’m too old to attempt to readjust to those crazy hours and sleeping during the day has become impossible.
Steve says, “I’ve worked many 9-5 jobs and always ended up exhausted. I’d be good, for a while, getting ‘normal’ sleep. But my natural patterns would always come back (especially when on vacation, etc.), and I’d go to work with ‘tooth picks’ holding my eyes open. So, I learned that I have to work at night. Since I’m self-employed, it’s not so bad.”

Steve, you would make a good night watchman. I love poetry so here’s another:
A candle burned at both ends will not last the night, but oh my foes and ah my friends it gives a lovely light.

glad I’m not the only one.
Steve says, “I thought you were one!”

I want to be self employed so I can work the hours I want to. Although I tend to work better with someone else motivating me. I’m easily distracted. Don’t need someone over my shoulder (gad!) but I need to be accountable to someone else. I’m not firm enough with myself.
As far as natural sleep cycle, I’m flexible. Right now I get up at 4:30 a.m. to go to work, and work until about 4:15p.m., with a few hours off in the middle there. School bus driver, ya’ know. I can do that no problem, sleep wise, except it leaves not nearly enough time for the important stuff like blogging. But I can get used to being up nights and sleeping days if I have a week or two to work into it. I love to sleep during the day. I LOVE to nap. The perfect day for me is to wake early and enjoy the early morning sun with coffee and cinnamon toasted something. Work a little, then have some hot heavy sex. Afterwards, a shower if necessary then a nice long nap. Wake up in the late afternoon, watch the sunlight fade from the sky, and do some more work (or blog or whatever). Then go to sleep again sometime between 11p and 2 a. And do it all over again.
Happy Sunday, dear.
Steve says, “I love to watch the sunrise. Every morning, whether cold or hot, I’m on my patio, with the animals, watching the sun rise.!”

ha! if i had only known, steve. for some reason with the changing of the clocks, my internal clock has also decided to spring forward, er, or fall back i suppose, depending on what time you happen to catch me and whether i am awake or asleep then.
as the summer approaches, i fear that i will barely get 4 hours of sleep a day. too much fun stuff to do while the sun is up.
anyway, i hope you’re enjoying your weekend whatever time it is! ;-}
Steve says, “See, that’s the thing. I still get 7-8 hours’ sleep. But it’s in the middle of the day!”

glad you’re rebooted….
Steve says, “Java coined that phrase, and I really like it!”

Sometimes I do like staying up later, but normally I am in bed by ten. Of course, working a day shift will do that to you, as you have to get up around six in the morning. Although I am perky in the morning I would rather sleep in. My favorite schedule would be probably getting up around ten AM and staying up until about midnight. That would be perfect!
Steve says, “Well, what sucks is that the rest of the world doesn’t operate on my schedule. Like today, I have a dentist’s appt. at 1p. Which means I gotta get up by 11 to shower and all that good stuff. And here it is 8….making my way to bed.
Believe me, I’ve tried to get myself on a more ‘normal’ sleeping schedule. It works for a few weeks, and then I’m back to my ‘normal’ again!”

You are a night owl. When I’d be waking up, you’d just be going to bed!

Somehow my body clock has been rest by forces out of my control. I’ll sleep til noonish and cant sleep again til 3 or 4 or 5 in the morning. I guess that makes me bi.
Steve says, “That sounds like my body clock, but I’m definitely not bi!”
