Favorite Beatle?
I was born before The Beatles broke up. But, I was too young to appreciate that whole experience, while it was happening. The thing is, The Beatles were so popular, that their music played continuously (on Top 40 and Rock radio) well into the late 80’s. I grew up, listening to all of their tunes. Then, right around the time Grunge became mainstream, The Beatles were shuffled to the Oldies stations. My favorite Beatle has always been John Lennon, hands down. Who was your favorite?

I went through them like lovers.
As a kid, it was Ringo. During the 70’s, I couldn’t get enough of Paul. Went through a brief John fixation, but finally settled on George whose spirituality really resonated with me and he is still my favorite to this day.
Steve says, “George is a very close second, just behind John. He was an amazing songwriter!”

George. I agree totally for all the same reasons.
Steve says, “I doubt many will pick Ringo!”

Paul McCartney
Steve says, “I think he’s a lot of people’s favorites. I know he was my mom’s favorite; but that’s cuz she thought he was the cutest!”

Yes, Paul McCartney was my dream lover. I remember seeing them on the Ed Sullivan show. They had long hair and our parents hated them. That was enough to make most of us love them more.
Steve says, “I’m sure it did make you love them more!”

you know, i lked them when i was very young, but drifted into other infatuations in the 70’s and never really went back.
Steve says, “Well, you’re generations
ahead of me. I probably would’ve been the same way.”

I liked some of the Beatles’ songs, but never really paid attention to any of them individually, even after they split and had successful solo careers.
But ask me about Simon and Garfunkel…
Steve says, “I was a big fan of Simon & Garfunkel too!”

Davey Jones

Ringo. I was a kid, my dad was a drummer too, he had that Octopus’s Garden song and he was the funniest in every Beatle film.
Steve says, “Yeah, he did have a warped sense of humor.”

can’t i have all of them. at the same time?
paul for the cuteness
george for the spirit
ringo for the huge hung cock
john for the talent
Steve says, “Of course you can. I never heard that Ringo had a huge hung cock?”

I agree Lennon takes the cake. But I also liked Paul’s voice (and the songs he wrote had a nice–but different– goodness)
Steve says, “McCartney’s music was more square and wholesome, for the most part.”

I’d say it is evenly split between John and Paul. For every snore of a song that each had (”When I’m 64″ and yes, “Hey Jude” ) there was absolute brilliance. Their collaboration on “A Day in the Life” was unsurpassed.
Solo works - Lennon alone. Paul was WUSSY. “Let Him In”?????
Steve says, “Yeah, “A Day in the Life” was an awesome song.”

Late comment on the post I know… But I had to tell you, hopefully you will appreciate it… I was never a big fan of The Beatles… Until recently… I rented a movie the other night, and I can’t get the music out of my head… If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it… Across the Universe… I equate it with Momma Mia… They’ve made a movie around The Beatles music… Set in the 60’s, with a modern feel… The singing is done by the main characters, and their voices are amazing… especially the “Jimi Hendrix” character and of course Jude (main character) are among my favorites… Bono, Eddie Izzard, Joe Cocker make appearances and sing as well… It’s an amazing movie… If you have already seen it, disregard all of the above…
Love from Atlanta
Steve says, “First of all, it’s so great to hear from you. Secondly, I do know about the movie, and it is awesome I saw a bootleg version of it!”

John Lennon, for sure.
Steve says, “Yeah, he died too soon. That’s for sure.”
