13 Favorite 80’s Songs ♥√♣

In No particular Order:
- Don’t Stand So Close To Me – The Police
- Sweet Child O’ Mine – Guns N Roses
- You Shook Me All Night Long – AC/DC
- With Or Without You – U2
- Kiss – Prince
- Our Lips Are Sealed – The Go Go’s
- Under Pressure – Queen
- Love Shack – The B52’s
- Super Freak – Rick James
- Bust A Move – Young M.C.
- Tempted – Squeeze
- One Thing Leads To Another – The Fixx

People may be surprised that R.E.M. didn’t make my cut. Anyhow, who didn’t try to sing (when at a party) all the words to, “End of the World as We Know it?”

Some good songs! I began my slow decent to my place under a rock in the 80s. I know more about 60s and 70s music. I didn’t even know “End of the World as We Know It” until this century.
Steve says, “Wow! Not till this century?”

Steve says, “I wasn’t a fan of that song.”

WoW… Flashback… My first car only had AM/FM… I installed the cassette deck… I went through 2 Guns N Roses “Appetite for Destruction” cassettes… I even remember how long to FF to the next song I liked… I also remember thinking that the “compact disc” was just a fad, it will never fly… Go Figure…
Love from Atlanta
Steve says, “I’d forgotten all about the trick of knowing exactly where to fast forward on a tape.”

It’s funny. I lived through the decade and remember all these songs, but they wouldn’t make my faves. Super Freak was a hoot. But thanks for lining em up, so I could hava listen.
Steve says, “The music I listened to in the 80’s was more mainstream than what I listened to in the 90’s, forward.”

Where’s How Soon Is Now or some other classic Smiths song? I’m going to see REM tonight, report to follow.
Steve says, “Wait a minute?! I’m seeing them tonight! Email me. So are you at K & R’s house in Baltimore. Or are you driving in from REHO? The Smiths almost made the cut!”

I loved your list! Even though 80’s music is not my fav (I’m s 90’s spawn), I like every single song in there
Well, I hope you’re doing great. Regards from the south of the world.
Steve says, “OMG, Arkano! I assumed you’d stopped blogging and had even taken you off my blogroll! It’s great to hear from you. Let me know if you’re blogging again.”

Yeah, Juan! (Arkano) Good to hear from you sweet man. I liked Queen with songs like “We are the champions of the world” and “We will rock You” I even used to pretend to be a Tranny in my room and sing “Melancholy Baby”. It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
Steve says, “Ed! You’ve been kind of missing in action. I figured you were catching up on batheing with all the extra water in Indiana!
Um those songs from Queen were from the 70’s!”

I got your e-mail and thanks for the concern. I tried to reply but it was returned as undeliverable. The water is starting to recede but it is supposed to rain more Friday and saturday. My garden is drowning I guess I should have planted Rice.
The 70’s was my favorite music decade the 80’s were the me generation…me, me, me.
Steve says, “Well, that’s how tired and busy I am! Because while I thought about you, I don’t remember sending you an email
Not sure why it said undeliverable, as I’ve been getting other’s email.”

@ Scamperstein. I just trekked over to K & R’s house to see if you were staying there. I didn’t see their cars, or any cars with Delaware plates. Regardless, I knocked on the door. You were either hiding inside or you’re traveling straight from Reho. I wish I’d known you were interested in the show! I was comped, by one of my clients, with 4 tickets including backstage access, I had the same gig for the Berkeley show, but was unfortunately unable to make it; cuz of life.
For the Merriweather show, it’s just myself and D. Still have 2 unused tickets. Anyhow, I emailed you my cell cuz I’m heading down for the concert; as of NOW!

Man, I just totally stole your idea. Heck, I even stole your picture! But I had to go all the way up to 20. Viva la 80’s. You have to wait til tomorrow, though because I posted already today. But the draft is ready to go!
Steve says, “Copy Cat!”

No Pet Shop Boys? Tsk. Hand over your card.
Steve says, “I wasn’t a huge fan of The Pet Shop Boys.”

I can certainly agree with #3 and #13!
Steve says, “Um yeah! The 80’s was my decade for pot smoking. Those songs were always playing whenever I sucked on a bong. Every gay boy should do bong hits, as a teen. It’s good practice for future oral skills.”

all of those meet with my approval.
Steve says, “Phew, what a relief. I can finally sleep tonight.”

I listened to a completely different genre of music in the 80’s. I like your song selections, but they wouldn’t have made my top 13.
