    No…it was the greatest thing I have ever done for myself.

    Steve—-> :lol:

  2. No, not at all. Why? Was it supposed to? Coming out for me was a complete and total non-event. Even Paris Hilton opted to attend the opening of an envelope that day.

    Steve says, “I have no regrets over coming out. I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I hadn’t come out. But, it has not been easy. That’s mostly because I came out before I was mature enough to handle the aftermath (with family). I think that it’s ’safer’ to wait till one is an adult. In my case, it would’ve been. Regardless of all of that, as Sean stated, “It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done for myself…..”

    I don’t think I have faced many hardships, after all, I am a librarian, and librarians tend to be a pretty liberal open-minded bunch, so I fit right in!

    Steve—> :lol:

  4. Howard Says:

    I’ve never (knock on wood) had a major problem with being out. Anything that has happened has been something I could deal with, process and move on.

    Steve says, “I’ve pretty much been the same way.”

    My life became instantly easier once I came out of the closet!

    Steve says, “Mine too.”

  6. Peter Says:

    No, it was easy. Maybe it has to do with a more tolerant country.

    oh hell yea. I came out to my parents (no actually they found out when they discovered the porn) when I was around 15 or 16. They immediately sent me to a Christian organisation which aims to “cure” through counselling and prayer. Needless to say, it was quite ineffective (and troublesome too). Right now, I just tell them that I’m straight and fine and dandy because I don’t want to go through that again.

    Recently, I came out to one of my girl-friends. She was surprisingly calm and took it well. You can read about it on my blog. That went much better than I expected:)

    Steve says, “My own life experience has shown that it usually does turn out way better than expected.”

    I lived in blissful denial until the age of 25, which is probably why I had a wonderful childhood and why the act of coming out of the closet was uniformly positive for me, aided – of course – by my adoptive lesbian moms who immediately took me under their wing and showed me just how wonderful an open and honest life could be.

    Steve says, “I think a lot of us are fortunate to have a more experienced Mo take us under his/her wing.”
