  1. Blobby Says:

Dickens did not give enough options. The answer?: It is neither.

    Steve says, “Smart is sexy.”

  2. Northsdad Says:

There are good AND bad elements. Many BAD elements. The economy. Incredibly bad politicians on BOTH sides. Health Care. Unemployment.

There are also a few GOOD things. A beautiful autumn day! That sort of makes up for the other stuff.

    Northsdad

    Steve says, “Agreed.”

  3. matty03 Says:

You know, I am prone to agree with Blobby — but, I think — taking into account all the variables — it is all sort of the same.

    Art and love saves me.

    Steve says, “I want what you’ve been smoking….” :P

  4. Peter Says:

What’s best for some is bad for others and the other way around. Ying/Yang in short it’s called: LIFE

    Steve says, “I agree.”

  5. jimsmuse Says:

    I think it’s time for a beer.

    Steve—>

i’m fairly certain that a “which” hunt yields much less than the truth. sometimes when i work as a cater-waiter in private homes recently, i hear about the last few weeks being the most frightening that they have endured in quite some time. it’s been frightening for me, too, but not in the same way. you know- to think that we can financially save certain individuals and business, but not all is a very sobering and frightening realization. and then there is which party will take office. and americans shouting “kill him” about obama at rallies…. are these our best times?

in my heart though, counting my sanity, my peace of mind, and my ability to follow my passion- it is very much the best of times for me..

Steve says, “It’s what one makes of the situation they’re in, IMHO.”

  7. Indigo Says:

Ya know… I just haven’t read much Charles Dickens. “Great Expectations” was kinda twisted and I never yearned for more, heh heh.

Steve says, “A lot of Dickens’ work was dark. But I really got into the characters of “Great Expectations.” Dickens was the first author who ever made me get enmeshed in the life of the story. It takes a lot of talent to keep me entertained enough to read hundreds of pages (in a sitting).” :P

    re: the Styx clip-
that’s old. Classic, perhaps. But guys should not wear their hair in bangs. It’s wrong, wrong, wrong.

Steve says, “I never could understand the shag, perms, or bangs – for guys.”

  9. Uncle Zoloft Says:

Off With His Head!!!!! Man is this subject up my alley.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,
it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness,
it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity,
it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness,
it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair,
we had everything before us, we had nothing before us,
we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way
—in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.”

Truer words….. and crazier that it come from A Tale of Two Cities.

“Martin Chuzzlewit” is a good long winter read, as well as “Pickwick” and the undeniable truth of “A Christmas Carol.”

When I lived in NYC Dickens was my subway reading material.

Steve says, “Well, we have one more thing in common.”

  10. mathewphilip Says:

Times sure seem dark, I’m hoping the Dawn is coming

    Steve says, “Me too.”

  11. eh…we all end up dead either way. What’s the difference.

    Steve says, “We do?” :P
